About
Bachelor of Business Administration (abbreviated as BBA) is an undergraduate degree course in Business Administration. This program imparts basic understanding of Business and Management. It is a full time course with duration of 3-4 years. This course provides an overview of competitive business environment, functional areas of corporates and their interconnections. It also focuses in developing analytical, operational, managerial, decision making skills in students.
Course of study in BBA program is quite different with other undergraduate program, apart from theoretical learning it also concentrates in practical exposure and involves brainstorming sessions, case studies, classroom debates, role-plays, assignments, presentations, industrial visits and interactive sessions from industry experts.
Eligibility
Eligible candidate needs to meet following criteria for BBA admission in India:
. Passed with minimum 60% of aggregate marks in 12th (10+2) in any stream from CBSE, ISE (class 12) or HSC (or equivalent) from any Indian State Board
. English must be one of the passing subjects
In addition to above, scores of entrance test/exam are also considered for BBA admission, many colleges and institutes conduct their own entrance test during month of May or June. However, some institutes grant admission in merit basis or accept score of Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT), conducted by AIMA (All India Management Association).
BBA entrance exam results are usually announced in the month of July.
Entrance Exam Pattern
BBA Entrance exam basically consists of MCQs and Written tests (with total 150 questions), in four section viz.General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Language and Comprehension. Time allotted for this exam is about 2 hours.
After clearing entrance exams, candidates have to appear for Group Discussions and Personal Interview. Consolidated result of both are considered for admissions
How to prepare
BBA entrance exams need exhaustive preparations. Students should create their checklists and systematically plan their studies. They also need to have strong command in below four sections:
General Awareness: A challenging section of the exam, as it has vast syllabus covering questions of current affairs and latest happenings across the globe. In order to stay abreast of latest informations BBA aspirants should watch news, read newspapers and magazines. In addition, they should focus more on business news. Questions related to general awareness doesn’t require much time to be solved, hence good marks can be scored in this section.
Quantitative Aptitude: It is a mathematical section and includes chapters like Average, Numbers, Area, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Permutations & Combinations etc. Maximum practice in these chapters will help you to crack quantitative aptitude.
Logical Reasoning: Logical reasoning is an important section with respect to BBA entrance preparations, as it assesses logical ability to solve the problems. It generally includes chapters like Number and Letter Series, Calenders, Clocks, Cubes, Venn Diagrams, Binary Logic, Logical Sequence etc.
Language and Comprehension: This section evaluates your command over English Language, Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension. Besides, studying from books and notes, aspirants should also develop a parallel reading habit in order to improve comprehension and vocabulary.
Moreover, BBA aspirants should refer previous year sample papers (for above sections) to get an idea about the type of questions being asked in entrance exams. They should also appear in Mock Tests to assess their strength and weakness.
